Interactive release checklist
Free KDP metadata checklist
Check KDP book metadata against the cover before upload.
A clean interior can still be delayed by mismatched title or author text, excessive fields, URLs, or promotional claims. Review one release set locally before copying it into KDP.
Checked:
Keep the cover and listing attached to one release
The title, subtitle, and contributor names on the cover should match the metadata entered for the same edition. Small punctuation differences deserve human review; a different title or author is a release-version problem, not an SEO opportunity.
KDP currently allows a title and subtitle combination up to 200 characters, a description up to 4,000 characters, up to seven keyword phrases, and up to three categories. The live KDP form and official rules remain the final source.
A checklist cannot select profitable keywords for you
This tool checks count, duplicates, and obvious policy-risk patterns. It does not fabricate search volume, promise ranking, or claim a category is available in every marketplace.
After the automated pass, read every field as a buyer would: accurate promise, specific audience, natural language, and no unsupported claim. Keep a dated copy beside the approved cover and interior.

No. This free checklist evaluates the entered text in the browser. It does not send title, author, description, keywords, or categories through analytics.
A checked metadata set still needs a locked source version.
