KDP distribution help

Book missing from a marketplace: distribution settings, delays, and market-specific gaps.

"My book does not appear on Amazon Mexico" is one of the most repeated Spanish and Portuguese questions in the KDP community. It usually has a setting, a delay, or a format answer.

Why new books lag in some marketplacesMarket-specific gaps: MX, BR, IN, and JapanHow print and Kindle distribution differ per market

The usual causes

A book enrolled for worldwide distribution still needs time per marketplace, and some markets restrict formats or categories. Check the territory settings first, then the marketplace's own catalog rules.

  • Worldwide distribution ≠ instant availability everywhere
  • Some markets only carry Kindle, not print, and vice versa
  • Tax and compliance settings can block a single marketplace

Market-specific notes

Amazon Mexico frequently shows a delay for print titles and some authors must re-save territory rights to trigger it. Brazil and India have narrower format availability and slower catalog updates. Japan requires Japanese metadata to surface well.

The fix checklist

Re-save the pricing and territory step, confirm the book is not restricted by category in that market, wait 72 hours for indexing, then contact support with the ASIN and marketplace.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long until my book appears in every marketplace?

Most marketplaces list within 24–72 hours of going live, but some, especially smaller and newer markets, take longer.

Why is my book missing from Amazon Mexico?

Commonly a territory-rights setting or a print delay. Re-save the pricing and territory step, then allow 72 hours before contacting support.

Can I choose which marketplaces sell my book?

Yes. In the pricing step you select territories. Kindle and print selections are made separately per title.

Does payment work the same in every marketplace?

Royalties are converted per marketplace currency, and payment thresholds and bank options differ by your country, not the sales market.
