A reflowable ebook should adapt when a reader enlarges the text. Paragraphs need enough line height, real headings, and clean breaks rather than a fixed printed-page imitation.

Use 1rem for body text and relative units for headings. Do not force a fixed 11 pt or 12 pt reading size in a reflowable EPUB.

Why 11 pt and 12 pt are print questions

Points describe physical size in a fixed layout. Reflowable ebooks do not have one fixed page or viewing distance. Use a neutral body size such as 1rem, relative heading scales, comfortable line height, and minimal font overrides so reader preferences keep working.

The preview's pixel slider demonstrates reading rhythm; it is not a value to hard-code into every paragraph.

Typography that survives different readers

Use real heading elements, avoid text baked into images, keep emphasis semantic, allow font fallback, and test at enlarged text settings. Very long lines on tablets and cramped lines on phones may justify responsive margins, but the content order must remain the same.
